MAYDELL HOLMES BROWN April 15, 1941 - July 23, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Maydell Holmes Brown, age 71, of 3240 Abbeville Highway, passed away on July 23, 2012. Born in Starr, SC, she was a daughter of the late M.O. Holmes and the late Maybell Davis Holmes. She worked in textiles for many years and also in many local restaurants. She was a single mother of four children. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Brewster (Tommy) and Teresa Vickery Sanders (Keith), of Anderson; brothers, Buddy Holmes (Shera), Ray Holmes (Cindy) and Jackie Holmes (Kim) all of Anderson; sisters, Mary Whitten (Bunchie), Claudine Adams (Donnie), Edna Bailey (Mike), Sara McCullough (Bobby) and Pat Williams (Woody) all of Anderson; grandchildren, Haley and Joshua Sanders, T.J. and Eddie Sloan, Joseph Ethridge and Casey Thompson; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Dezaray, Cloe and Dominic Sloan; Hayden Ethridge, and Austin and Breeland Thompson; and her dear friends, David and Trish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Ethridge and a daughter, Pamela Vickery. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ricky Knight and Reverend Ralph Carter officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
