Meloni Patrice James, 49, of Anderson passed away on Friday December 28, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Meloni fought a long battle with health issues and is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Heavenly and Earthly Fathers. Meloni was the loving daughter of Harriet Martin James and the late William "Bill" E. James, Jr. She was the sister and second "mom" to her brother, Van Martin James. Meloni graduated from Oakwood Christian School Class of 1987 and Tri-County Technical College. Meloni spent 24 years in faithful service with the Anderson County Treasurer's Office; a profession she dearly loved. She cherished her family, friends, church and everyone she met along the way. Meloni loved children and was an avid Clemson Tiger Football fan. She attended NewSpring. In addition to her mother and brother, she leaves behind her sister-in-law, Lauren James, grandmother, Mary Wham James of Sumter, SC, and uncle and aunt, John and Mary Wayne James of Sumter, SC. Meloni was also predeceased by her, grandparents, Van William Martin and Beatrice Poore Martin and William Edwin James, Sr. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm Sunday, December 30, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 2 pm in The Chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home. Reverend Guy Roberts and Mr. Jon Holmes will officiate the service.
