MOOREMAY 21, 1940 - FebrUARY 4, 2011IVA, SC ' Melvin James Moore 'Nutter', age 70, of 315 Gray Circle, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011, at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born May 21, 1940, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Lester Moore and Hazel Shiflet Moore. Mr. Moore retired from Hexcel-Schwebel Corp. and attended the First Wesleyan Church of Iva as well as the First Baptist Church of Iva. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mr. Moore may be best remembered for his many years and accomplishments in playing Men's League Softball.Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Roxie Rollins Moore; and their daughters: Tina Morrison of Starr, Carolyn Moore of Starr, and Dawn Moore Duncan and husband, Alan of West Union; sisters: Mary Owens of Anderson, and Darcie Smith of Anderson; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his beloved pet, 'Oscar'.The Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Monday, February 7, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Iva, conducted by the Reverend Jerry Gray and the Reverend Steve Love. Burial will follow in Iva City Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Paul Young and the Reverend Dick Thomas.
