September 16, 1912 - December 27, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Melvin Eugene Rumsey, Sr., age 94, of 135 Stone Drive, Anderson, SC, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Hart County, GA on September 16, 1912, Mr. Rumsey was the son of the late Mack Rumsey and Tincy Thrasher Rumsey. He was retired from Abney Mills, Anderson Mill location and was of the Baptist Faith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include a son, Carter E. Prince of Anderson, SC; daughter, Martha R. McClellan and her husband, Joe O. McClellan of Anderson, SC; fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Reverend Hubert M. Rumsey and Melvin E. Rumsey, Jr.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Gordon Taylor and Claude Dykes.
