Merilyn Lusk Bolt, age 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born February 12, 1937, in Tamassee Salem, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Edward Lusk and Pauline Miller Lusk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eldon Bolt; brothers, William R. Lusk and Thomas E. Lusk; and sister, Barbara J. Horne.

Merilyn formerly worked in administration at Michelin and was a seamstress at Jantzen. She and her husband Joe were passionate about square dancing! They traveled the country performing western square dancing and were inducted into the Square Dancing Hall of Fame. They also held leadership positions in both the National and State Square Dancing Associations. Merilyn was full of spunk, had the sweetest smile, and loved to tell stories from the "good ole days." She was famous for her Anderson Women's Club macaroni mousse and 7-up pound cake. Most of all Merilyn loved her family and will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Bolt; brother, J. Kenneth Lusk (late Imogene); and sisters, Faye Lusk, Betty S. Black (Charles), Carolyn J. Kobel, and Shirley R. Roach (late John).

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Mike McClung officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
