She attended Girls' High School and was of the Baptist Faith. She retired from the Singer Manufacturing Company with 15 years of service.Survivors include her daughters, Brenda King and Phyllis Evans; son, Larry Hanks and his wife, Martha, all of Anderson; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, Donnie Hanks; brother, Howard Barkley and sister, Ruby Hall.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan.
