Born in Miami County, Ohio, he was a son of Norma Jean Harshbarger Reck and the late Othal Leroy Reck. He was a 1958 graduate of Franklin-Monroe High School in Ohio and he served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Military Crisis. He worked for General Motors, Dayton Ohio Plant for over 35 years and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Belton Gun Club, was an avid Miami Dolphin Fan and enjoyed bowling with the Wednesday and Friday Night Boulevard Bowling League.In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughters, Diana Reck of Casstown, Ohio and Wendy Reck of Tipp City, Ohio. He is also survived by Mary Jane's children; John Colbert of Jackson, Ohio, Cathy Walker of Bradford, Ohio and Jeffrey Colbert of Tipp City, Ohio; sisters, Vickey Maxton of Anderson, Denise Gotthardt of Bradenton, FL and Dawn Moon of Holiday, FL; brother, Dewight Reck of Hampton, MN; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Leroy Reck.A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.A memorial service and interment will be held in Covington, Ohio at a later date.
