MICHAEL SIDERS Michael David Siders, age 43, of 206 Frances Cannon Drive, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Born in Gallipolis, OH, on April 19, 1971, he was the son of Carl W. and Loretta Jean Siders of Anderson. He is married to Nicole New Siders of the residence. Michael graduated from Westside High School, and subsequently graduated from Wake Forest University with a BS degree in Sports Science. While attending Wake Forest, he played football on a full athletic scholarship. Michael was a registered nurse at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens, SC, and worked part time at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. At both hospitals he served as an ER charge nurse. Michael was a member of New Spring Church. He loved his friends and his family, all of whom he cherished dearly. In addition to his beloved wife, Nicole and his parents, Michael leaves behind a son, Benjamin Michael Siders of Clemson; 2 daughters, Sydney Nicole Siders of Clemson, and Madison Noelle Chastain of the residence; 2 brothers Paul Siders of Charlotte, NC, and Chris Siders and his wife, Donna, of Murrells Inlet, SC; and a sister Carla S. Smith and her husband Jeff, of Brown Summit, NC. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Michael's life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Steve Silvey officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Contributions in memory of Michael may be made to a charity of one's choice.
