On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center, Michael Sivak, age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away.

He was born November 20, 1942, in Charleroi, PA, and was the son of the late Michael Sivak and the late Helen Dickum Sivak. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Sivak.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. After his military service, Michael and his family lived in various cities in New York; Lindhurst, Mill Neck and Oyster Bay. He worked for Yellow Freightways as dock manager, until his retirement. In 2014, he and his wife, Jean, relocated to Anderson, SC to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.

Michael loved sports, watching and participating. In younger years he was a softball pitcher, enjoyed playing basketball and loved watching the NY Yankees and NY Mets. He became a fan of Clemson football and rarely missed watching the Tigers play. Michael was a true car enthusiast. He always cared for his cars, especially keeping them clean and well-maintained.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Addazio Sivak; daughter, Sharon Rose Lavery; sisters, Marie LaRocca and Barbara Alvarez; and grandchildren, Rick Gerard Lavery, Jr., Caitlyn Rose Lavery, and John Michael Lavery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 pm and from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:30 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. A committal with military honors will follow at M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
