Micheal William Sims, Sr., 69, passed away, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Mission Health in Asheville, NC.

He was born August 20, 1954, in Snyder, Texas, to the late James Sims and Olean Haigler.

He served in the U.S. Navy after high school during the end of the Vietnam War, and later with Halliburton Oil subsidiaries, NASA, became an owner operator of a Transportation & Logistics Company, owner of a Private Security Service, and then in service as a Law Enforcement Officer and Volunteer Firefighter. He was a lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan, a proud supporter of the U.S. Military and enjoyed the annual Army – Navy game day. He further enjoyed being with family and friends, fishing, marksmanship training, coaching and mentoring young people, and taking care of animals.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Sims; sons, Mike, Chris and Josh Sims; daughter, Kimberly Hubbard Sims and eight grandsons.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
