Cater and survived by mother, Billie McKinney, Mike worked for Phillips & Jordan with the efforts of the cleanup after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He was recently employed by Schneider National as a regional truck driver. As an avid biker, he was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Harley Owners' Group. Mike graduated from Greenwood High School and from Western Carolina University where he played defensive tackle for the Catamounts. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by two sons, Army Sgt. Matthew Cater of Colorado, and Brett Cater of Anderson; two brothers, Steve Cater and David Cater, both of Anderson; two uncles, Thomas and Roger Cater; aunts, Sue Ellen Milford, Doris McClain, and Betty Jean Walker; and his fianc' Brenda Holden.Mike is predeceased by his father; his grandmother, Annie Ruth Taylor; and his grandparents, George and Ernestine Cater.The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev.
