James Michael "Mike" Holden, age 70, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021. Born June 30, 1950, in Anderson, SC he was the son of the late James "Buddy" Holden and the late Frances Gambrell. Mike was a graduate of T.L. Hanna, Class of 1968, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a former supervisor for Owens Corning, then continued on to work as a realtor with Foothills Remax Realty. He served the Anderson Community for 16 years on the Anderson County Council, was a member of Covenant Baptist Church, and loved posting his favorite Bible verses on his Facebook page. Mike will be remembered as a dedicated loving father where his children and grandchildren always came first. He is survived by children, Shannon Holden, Grant Holden, Garrett Holden (Taylor), and Chris Brewington (Casey); brothers, David Cantrell (Rhonda), Steve Cantrell (Leah), and Billy Holden; and five grandchildren, Michael Holden (Shelby), Blaze Brown, Miley Brown, Cason Brewington, and Calleigh Brewington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lane Holden; brothers, Johnny, Tommy, and Kenneth Cantrell; stepfather, Paul Gambrell; and stepmother, Pauline Holden. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military honors.
