Michael John Hubbard, age 78, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. He was born May 4th 1943 in Mason City, Iowa and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and later attended Mankato State University. He was the first in his family to graduate college with a Bachelor's Degree in History. He was married and raised their two daughters in Blaine, MN. Mike's mission in life was to make people happy, laugh often, and he enjoyed entertaining children the most with his famous Donald Duck impersonation. He had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He also loved music, particularly the Beatles. Mike adored his girls and was proud to be a part of an Irish family. He enjoyed being a salesman for Keebler Cookies and with Home Depot for 25 years. He is beloved by many and will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Erin Ryan Hubbard, and his brothers Dave Hubbard, and Jerry Hubbard. He is survived by his cherished wife of 53 years, Sue Jones Hubbard; daughters, Shannon Swanson (Jason) and Michelle Land (Troy); sisters, Jody Wilson and Marge Decklever; and grandchildren, Kailey, Riley, Conner, and Alaina. The family will honor Mike at The McDougald Funeral Home and will receive friends Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 pm. A memorial mass will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 12:30 pm with the family also receiving friends beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at The Rose Family Residence, 101 Natural Springs, Belton, SC, 29627. The family asks all who attend the funeral to wear their best green attire to honor Mike's love of the Irish.
