Richard Michael Ramsey, age 64, of 202 Keystone Drive, passed away on January, 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Anderson, SC on September 5, 1952, he is the son of Joan Ramsey and the late R.E. Ramsey. Mike was raised in Anderson where his family and friends were the center of his life. He worked in the electrical profession for many years where he touched the lives of many young electricians starting in the profession, before starting his own business. He was blessed to be able to work every day providing a service to his friends. His customers all became his friends and he felt truly blessed to make a living in work that was a joy.
He loved his work and the relationships that blossomed from his service. However, his true passions were his family and his endeavors in agriculture.
The joy of his life was his daughter, Mykael. That joy was only rivaled by the addition to the family of his son-in-law, Michael Bibb, and grandson Henry. His family was his joy and always his priority in life. His great love for all of them was easily evident in all he endeavored.
After his family, his passion was growing his garden and sharing that abundance with others. If anyone ever had a green thumb, it was him. He could truly grow anything, and all he grew produced in excess.
In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Lynn Ramsey; daughter, Mykael Bibb, and her husband Michael; sister, Teresa Finley; and a grandson, Henry.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Van Ramsey.
The funeral service will be held at Union Grove United Methodist Church on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Amy Bratton and Neil Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Ramsey family will receive friends on Monday, January 16th, 2017 from 10 am-11:30 am prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at their residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove United Methodist Church, 3332 Highway 29 North, Belton, SC 29627.
