DAVIS May 6, 1928 - November 26, 2008IVA, SCMrs. Mildred Chambers Davis, age 80 of 1013 Antreville Highway, wife of the late J. C. Davis, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson County, SC on May 6, 1928, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late George W. Chambers and Fannie Elizabeth W. Chambers. She retired from Southern Weaving Company with 20 years of service and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Survivors include her sons: Robert 'Buddy' Davis and J. W. Davis and his wife, Angie, of Anderson: daughters, Della Machen and her husband, Gerald; Nellie Davis of Iva; Carolyn Davis of Anderson and Betty Murphy and her husband, Thomas of Asheboro, NC; brother, Caroll 'Windley' Chambers of Anderson; sister, Catherine C. Whitaker of Liberty; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Violet Patricia Davis; six brothers and one sister.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Belmont Church of God of Prophecy officiated by Bishop Alan Rhodes. Interment will follow in Starr Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her daughter, Della Machen, 3094 Lake Secession Road, Iva, SC.Flowers are optional.
