Mildred Kappa Mildred Lena Darnell Kappa, age 90, of 6594 Pond View Court, Clermont, passed away at her residence on Monday, August 4, 2014. Born in Paragould, AR, on December 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Darnell and the late Gertie Korner Darnell. She retired after 25 years of employment with Little General Convenience Stores. Mildred was a member of Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church in Townville, SC. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Roland and her husband Leo, of Clermont, GA; five grandchildren, Melisa Henson, Eric Roland, Anthony Brown, Annette Smith and James Cordtz; 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Kappa; a daughter, Janice Williams; a grandson, Douglas Roland; a great-grandson, James Mykeal Cordtz; and three brothers, Robert, Cecil and Raymond Darnell. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Kappa will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Dickson United Methodist Church with Reverend Judy Hames officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
