Mildred Evans Mayfield, age 88, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at NHC of Anderson. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lewie Elmer Evans and the late Willie Moore Evans. She was a 1944 graduate of Girl's High. She was retired from Orr Lyons Mill. Mildred was a member of Forest Hill Baptist where she was a member of the Hope Sunday School Class. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles "Don" Mayfield; a son, Tony Mayfield and his wife Diane, of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Louanne Glenn and her husband Tom, of Anderson, SC; a sister, Carol Smith and her husband James, of Iva, SC; grandchildren, Scott Glenn, Joey Glenn, Misty Deason, Kami Collier and Josh-Pruitt Mayfield; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles John "CJ" Mayfield. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Owen officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Hope Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will be at the home of her daughter, 108 Ora Lane, Anderson, SC 29625, and will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church, 909 Plantation Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
