Born in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late William O. Alewine and the late Naomi Gable Alewine. She was a 1938 graduate of Iva High School. Mildred was a secretary for many years with several lawyers and also the Anderson County Health Department. She was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She is survived by her son, Bob Murphy and his wife Beverly, of Fountain Inn; a daughter, Kathy Davis and her husband William, of Anderson; five grandchildren, Scott Davis, Todd Davis, Brett Nazworth, Shane Nazworth and Johnathan Murphy; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Will Murphy; a daughter, Pattianne Nazworth; and a brother, James Alewine.
