Miss Bowie was a 1972 graduate of U.S.I.U. in San Diego, Calif. Following graduation, she was a Public School Educator. Miss Bowie was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church.In addition to her mother, she is survived by six siblings: Eleanor Bowie Melmer of Middlefield, Connecticut, Beverly Bowie Clark and husband, Frank Clark of Anderson, South Carolina, Eathel Bowie Weimer and husband, the Reverend William Weimer of Stuart, Florida, Antoinette Bowie Schroder and husband, the Reverend Ted Schroder of Amelia Island, Florida, Miss Marie M. Bowie of Anderson, South Carolina, and the Reverend Clyde F. Bowie, Jr., and wife, Virginia Bowie of Mechanicsville, Virginia.A Private Graveside Service will be held at Starr Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Dennis R. Tedder and the Reverend Don Cooke.The family suggests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, 302 West Whitner Street, Anderson, South Carolina 29624.
