Monnie S. Rice, age 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born July 9, 1935, in Ila, GA, she was the daughter of the late Monnie Sellers and Lillie James Sellers. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Howell; second husband, Monroe Brown; third husband, Carvest Rice; 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 grandson, and 2 great granddaughters. Monnie enjoyed quilting, cooking, and reading. He had a passion for Christ and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her son, James Howell of Anderson, SC; daughters, Cathy Johnson (Glenn) of Spring Hill, FL, and Sharon Kelly (Wayne Sanders) of Pelzer, SC; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Adams officiating.
