ANDERSON, SC--Mrs. Montez Smith Bryant, age 85, wife of L. C. Bryant of 2801 Pope Drive, Anderson, SC, died Friday, October 7, 2005 at Hospice of the Upstate, Anderson, SC.Born in Anderson, SC on November 18, 1919, Mrs. Bryant was a daughter of the late Arlington Floyd Smith and Alice Fowler Smith. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church, member of the Couples for Christ and the Joy Ministry. Mrs. Bryant retired from J.P. Stevens Company.Mrs. Bryant is survived by her husband, L. C. Bryant; sons, Larry T. Bryant, and his wife, Alice of Belton, SC, Donnie R. Bryant and his wife, Kay of Anderson, SC and Eddie F. Bryant and his wife, Joyce, also of Anderson, SC; brothers, Melvin Smith and Wilton Smith both of Anderson, SC; four sisters, Thelma King, Thrace Haley, and Mildred Russell all of Anderson, SC and Jeanette Findley of Elberton, GA; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by a brother, William Smith.The family is at the residence.
