Spencer Morrison Johnson, Jr. SPARTANBURG, SC Spencer Morrison Johnson, Jr., passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Born in Statesville, NC, he was a retired educator with 38 years of service in teaching, coaching and administration. He was a graduate of Statesville High School, Presbyterian College and received a Master's Degree from Converse College. He received a PhD from USC in Columbia, SC. He served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Clayton Johnson; two sons, Spencer Morrison Johnson, III of Spartanburg, SC, and John Thomas Johnson and his wife Gail Williamson Johnson of Clinton, SC; three grandchildren, Robert Johnson, Caroline Johnson, and Drew Johnson. The Graveside service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Old Stone Church Cemetery, Clemson, SC.
