Mrs. Barbara Ann Cooke Purgason, 74, or Anderson, SC died on Tuesday, February, 28, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. She was the daughter of the late Roy Benjamin and Edna Keeler Cooke born on April 5, 1942 in Greenville, SC. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband: Marion "Bubba" Purgason of their home; one son: Kevin Purgason and his wife Cecelia of Anderson, SC; one brother: Roy Benjamin Cooke, Jr. and his wife Susan of Charleston, SC; and one sister: Linda James and husband Larry of Fountain Inn, SC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother: Cecil Lee Cooke. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday morning, March 4, 2017 at 11:00am with the Rev. Jerry Parnell and Mr. Butch Pruitt officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Veteran's Mausoleum. The Purgason family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
