Pettus died Friday, August 26, 2005, at Anderson Area Medical Center.Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Furman C. Browning and Callie Cooley Browning. Mrs. Pettus was a graduate of Lander College and retired as an accountant at Royal American Motor Inn. She was also a member of Orrville Baptist Church.She is survived by two sons: James Edwin Pettus of Johns Island, SC, and William C. Pettus of Lake Secession; a daughter, Patricia Anne Bradford of Starr; a sister, Louise Kay of Belton and a brother, Furman C. Browning, Jr. of Belton; four grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren also survive.A Funeral Service will be held of Monday, August 29, 2005, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard A. Burton officiating.
