Mrs. Sara Evelyn Holmes, age 89, formerly of Anderson, SC, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Riverside Living Center, Piedmont, SC.Born in Franklin County, GA, on June 14, 1917, Mrs. Holmes was a daughter of the late William Crawford Phillips and Minnie Anderson Phillips. She formerly owned and operated Parham's Cloth Shop. She was of the Baptist faith.Survivors include, her sons, Jack W. Holmes of Houston, TX and Charles 'Dusty' Holmes of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Jo Ann Holmes Clark of Concord, NC; stepsons, Douglas Parham of Anderson and Lailand Parham of Hepzibah, GA; a brother, Bobby Phillips of Starr, SC. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Ray Phillips and Donald T. Phillips.A Graveside Service will be held at Poplar Spring Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 11:00am officiated by Reverend Dr. Kirt Mitchell.
