TOMMIE BANNISTER October 4, 1922 - February 27, 2009ANDERSON, SCMrs. Tommie Scarborough Bannister, age 86 of 104 McClain Lake Drive, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Royston, GA on October 4, 1922, Mrs. Bannister was the wife of the late Wendell Ellis Bannister and the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Scarborough and Texie Phillips Scarborough. She was a member of Orrville Baptist Church.Survivors include her darling daughter, Vickie Bannister of Anderson; her loving son, Sam Bannister of Salisbury, NC; two special granddaughters, Shana McGuire and her husband, Brad and Samantha Sherman and her husband, David; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ellis, Nicole, James 'Jay', Michael and Logan; brother, Edward Scarborough of Columbia and many friends.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, D. B and Howard Scarborough and sisters, Blanche Hunnicutt and Margie Bussey.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Dr. Wendell Bannister. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-7 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
