Myde Rogers Craig, age 92, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2017 at Trinity Place in Albemarle, NC. A native of Lake City, SC, Myde was born on January 4, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Rogers and the late Mary Ellen Forrest Rogers. Due to the early death of her mother, Myde was brought up by her Aunt Mattie Harris. At the age of 6 she went to Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, S.C. She spent her lifetime dedicated to our Lord's work, her husband, children, and those in need. We children praise the Lord for the Mother we were blessed with. Myde is survived by: daughters, Cynthia Aiken Wilbanks (Paris) of Iva, SC, Joy Craig Phillips (Bill) of Raleigh, NC, Sharon Craig Parker (Tim) of Albemarle, NC, and Robin Craig Morris (Jimmy) of Richfield, NC; a son, John Roger Craig (Bobbi Lyn) of Mt. Pleasant, NC; a son-in-law Jim Moore (Emily) of Friendsville, TN; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Craig was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death were husband Larry Aiken, who gave his life in World War II, John Craig, husband of 67 years, daughter, Marie Craig Moore, granddaughter, Angie Phillips; brothers, Forrest Rogers, Neil Rogers, and Harry Rogers, and sister, Nellie Rogers Cox. Graveside service for friends and family will be Friday, January 27 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, S.C. at 12 noon.
