Myrtle Franklin Cook, 95, of Anderson, SC passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born April 30, 1923 in Clarkesville, GA, she was the second daughter of the late Millus Asbury Franklin and Margie E. Wall Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Rev. Claude Franklin Cook. Myrtle was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. She had an amazing gift of making a home feel comfortable and welcoming to her family and many friends. She was artistic and showed her hidden talent through painting. She was dearly loved by many and was the rock of her family. She was a loving mother to her children, Donald Edwin Cook (Melissa) of Cordova, TN and Claudia Eaves (James Eaves M.D.) of Eagle River, AK; also survived by her brothers, Rev. Herb Franklin and Donald Franklin; sister, Dorothy Simpson; grandchildren, Claudia Annette, Donny, Chris, Erin and Heather and six great-grandchildren, Jason, Zachary, Jessica, Chris, Julianna and Hailey. The family will receive friends from 9:30am-10:30am Saturday, February 2, 2019 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00am Saturday with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
