Narvis Timmerman Patterson, age 87, went to her Heavenly home upon her death on Monday, December 5, 2016, at NHC of Anderson. Born in Edgefield, SC on April 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George Carlton Timmerman and the late Clydie Anderson Timmerman. For sixty-two years, Narvis was the loving and devoted wife of Marvin L. Patterson of NHC. She was retired from K-Mart after many years of service. Mrs. Patterson was a charter member of McDuffie Street Church of God where she sang in the choir and taught children's Sunday school. She had a love for her church and for singing. She is currently a member of High Praises Church. In addition to her husband, Marvin, Mrs. Patterson is survived by two sons, Gary Patterson (Debbie) and Greg Patterson, both of Anderson; two daughters, Renee Patterson and Krista Johnson (Deron) both of Anderson; one brother, Ben Timmerman (Barbara) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Gelena Dawes (Jimmy) of Stanley, NC; five grandchildren, Jason Patterson, Julie Thomas, Andrea Miller, and Amber and Courtney Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Emma and Rhys Miller, and Clara, Ben, Charlotte and Catherine Patterson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by an infant son, Dewayne Patterson; brothers Charles and James Timmerman; and one sister, Florence Bass. The family would like to thank the staff of NHC Anderson and Caris Hospice for the loving care given to their mother while she was a resident there. The funeral service honoring the life of Narvis Patterson will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 12 p.m. at River of Life Church of God, with Pastor Dale Dyar officiating. Interment will follow at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Renee Patterson, 136 Stone Cottage Drive, Anderson.
