Edna Neil Norryce Burton, age 78, of Aiken, SC, loving wife to the late Lt. Commander Fred E. Burton, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at Place at Pepper Hill. Born October 17, 1943, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Howell Ansel Norryce and Ethel Milford Norryce. Neil was a graduate of T.L. Hanna High School, Class of 1962, and worked at Bank of America with 14 years of service as an Administrative Assistant for the Commercial Loan Department in Aiken, SC. She also worked as a Legal Assistant for 5 years, was a member of the 1 in 8 Support Group of the Cancer Association of Anderson and was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her children, Michael Norryce Burton (Christina) of Aiken, SC, and Melinda Kreis (Greg) of York, PA; brother, Claridge A. Norryce (Margaret) of Anderson, SC; sisters, Kathie Burton Tucker of Powdersville, SC, and Karen Burton Culbertson (James) of Honea Path, SC; five grandchildren, Brandon and Tori Burton, and Samantha, Zach, and Sabrina Kreis; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Powell. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Thomas C. Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories, Belton, SC.
