Obituary

Nellie Fant Coleman, age 87, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Rainey Hospice House. Nellie was the daughter of the late Robert and Julie Burnette Fant, born on Jackson Street, Equinox Mill. She graduated from Girl's High School Class of 1949. She retired from Singer/ Ryobi with 35 years of service. Nellie was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family, friends, and to her Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George "Hank" Coleman; and five sisters, who showed great care and devotion to Nellie, Ruby Miller, of Anderson, SC, Hazel Spence, of Belton, SC, Jeanette Whitefield, of Fountain Inn, SC, Debbie Brown, of Mooresville, NC, Mable Schwarzenbarg, of Athens, GA; two brothers, Herman and Larry Fant, both of Belton, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Fant; two sisters, Eunice Freeman and Edna Greer. The family will receive friends at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. Glenn Taylor will officiate. The Golden Rule Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pall Bearers. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2511 Dobbins Bridge Road, Anderson, SC 29626, or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC.
