Nellie Mae Roberts McClure, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at home with family by her side. Born May 25, 1943, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Roberts and Dovie Elizabeth Thomas Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles William Bennett and John Calvin Roberts. Nellie worked at Hexcel for 23 years before retiring. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to sew. She was a member of Freedom Center. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George "Bud" Harrison McClure; daughters, Debra L. Stewart (Mike), Donna M. Stewart (Joe), and Sherrie D. McAdams (Danny); 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren with one on the way. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 2:00-3:30 pm at Freedom Center South Campus. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm with Rev. Phil Sears officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. Flowers are accepted.
