Simpson, age 91 of Anderson, wife of the late James Horton Simpson, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on May 15, 1915, Mrs. Simpson was a daughter of the late Monroe Gilbert and Donnie Barnette Gilbert. She was retired from J. P. Stevens Company, Appleton Mill with 40 years of service. She is survived by a sister, Ethel Ridley of Anderson, and beloved nieces, Katie Lockaby and Ruby Floyd, both of Anderson, and Ann Miller of Belton.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Arie Lynch, Ruth Floyd and Mary King and three brothers, Lawrence, Roy and Richard Gilbert.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Jerry Mize.
