NELLIE MEEKS WILSONJanuary 9, 1917 - October 1, 2006CHANDLER, AZ.Mrs. Nell Wilson, age 89, passed away October 1, 2006 in Chandler, Arizona.Born in Anderson, SC on January 9, 1917, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Clarence Irving Meeks and Nina Holcombe Meeks. She was married to Henry Shanklin Wilson for fifty years; they lived in Greenville and Anderson. Nell taught at Forrest Business College in Anderson and later at Greenville High School and J. L. Mann High School in Greenville. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville. After retirement, she and Shank enjoyed traveling and visiting family until Shank's death in 1988. Nell resided at Haywood Estates in Greenville for ten years and moved to Arizona in 2000 to near her daughter.She will be greatly missed by her children and their families: Mike and Jane Wilson of Punta Gorda, FL, Betty and Forrest Dixon of Savannah, GA, and Emily and Lee Zacharias of Mesa, AZ and her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Shank Wilson of Charleston, SC, Drew and Brandi Wilson of Greenville, SC, Scott and Marilee Dixon, Claire and Ian of Wilson, NC, Mark and Katrina Dixon, Tyler and Jessica of Helena, MT, Eric and Robyn Zacharias, Abby, Ethan and Isaiah of Flagstaff, AZ, Isaac and Jennifer Zacharias of Santa Rosa, CA and Anna and Seprieono Locario of San Francisco, CA. She is survived by her sister, Frances Blair of Elizabethtown, KY and her sister-in-law, Florence Meeks of Clemson, SC.A Graveside Service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard, 328 Queen Street, Pendleton at 11:00 am on Monday, October 9, 2006. A reception will follow at Farmer's Hall on the Pendleton Square, where Nell and Shank met in 1937.
