VAUGHNSEPTEMBER 20, 1921 - May 3, 2009IVA, SC ' Mrs. Nettie Snelgrove Vaughn, age 87, of 14 Clinkscales Street, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC.Born in Anderson County on September 20, 1921, she was a daughter of the late H.J. Snelgrove and Nellie Davis Snelgrove. Mrs. Vaughn retired from Jackson Mill and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva.Survivors include her children: a daughter, Dianne V. Lister and husband, Bob, of Taylors; a son, Gerald R. Vaughn and wife, Lydia, of Charlotte, NC; sisters: Hazel Coward of Anderson, and Lounell Cleveland and husband, Don, of Elberton, GA; brothers: Archie Snelgrove and wife, Mary, of Anderson, and Willie Snelgrove, also of Anderson; grandchildren: Sheri Metz and husband, Paul, of Taylors, Andrea Coker and husband, Jack, of Taylors, Jeff Lister of Greer, Tiffany Brent and husband, Bill, of Charlotte, NC; and Johnathan Vaughn of Charlotte, NC; and great grandchildren: Lauren, Lindsey, & Leah Metz, Will, Baleigh, & Gavin Coker, all of Taylors, and Sarah Brent of Charlotte, NC.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was predeceased by her husband, Garland N. Vaughn, Jr.; two brothers: Marvin Snelgrove and Ansel Snelgrove; and one sister, Helen Snelgrove.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Iva, conducted by the Reverend Jerry Gray and the Reverend Roger Estridge. Interment will follow in the Iva City Cemetery, conducted by the Reverend Paul Pinson. Mrs. Vaughn's Sunday School Class, the T.E.L. Class, will serve as Honorary Escort.The family will receive friends in the Vestibule of the First Baptist Church of Iva, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.
