Norma Smith Ertzberger, age 85, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Oakview Park Assisted Living.

Born June 5, 1938, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late James O. Smith and Rachel "Roxie" Clark Smith. She was married for 68 years to Alton Ray "Erchie" Ertzberger until his death on December 5, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Paul Ertzberger; and daughter, Lisa Darlene Ertzberger.

Norma worked for Appleton Mill and JP Stevens. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her granddaughter who is like a daughter, Angie Surls (Kyle); great granddaughter, Bailey Hammond; sister, Edith Johnson; sisters-in-law, Darlene Albertson and Lib Powell; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oakview Park Assisted Living for the care provided to Mrs. Ertzberger.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 29, 2024, from 10:30-11:30 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Guy Roberts officiating. A private burial will be held at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
