Norma Jean Hise, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Norma was born October 29, 1926 in Hubbard, Ohio to the late Harry and Mary Alice Swartz. She married the love of her life William Hise on June 25, 1948. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband in November 2018 and her siblings Alice Swartz, Kenny Swartz, Dorothy Timmins, Helen Sinclair, Donna File, Glen Swartz, Janet Farkas and Jim Swartz. After retiring as a bookkeeper for Jorgensen Steel in Houston, Texas she and Bill moved to Kerrville, Texas. They traveled extensively and completed their goal of visiting all fifty state capitols. Norma loved to ice skate (backward and fast), bowl and play bridge. She was an avid reader of American history and adored attending family picnics and reunions. Norma is survived by her sister Doris Swartz and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to Home Instead Senior Care and Petersen Hospice in Kerrville, Texas and Home Instead Senior Care, Wren Hospice and The Garden House in Anderson, South Carolina for their compassionate care of Norma. A service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at a later date.
