OLA LAYApril 30, 1925 - November 5, 2006ANDERSON, SCMrs. Ola Mae Stancil Lay, age 81, of 511 Whitehall Road, wife of the late Marvin Marion Lay, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006 at her residence.Born in Pickens County, SC, Mrs. Lay was a daughter of the late Earnest Edward Stancil and the late Minnie Sota Stewart Stancil. She was retired from the Singer Company and was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church for over 50 years.Survivors include her daughters, Frankie Eaker and her husband Robert Eaker, Sr. of Anderson, SC, and Marian Gerrard and her husband Bruce Gerrard of Townville, SC; brother Edward Stancil of Liberty, SC and sister Frances Lewis of Liberty, SC; three grandchildren, Heather McKenzie and her husband Kevin, Zeke and Amanda Gerrard.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Stancil.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 3:00 pm at the Pope Drive Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Kenneth Wright, Dr. William Hightower and Dr. Glenn Taylor. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, November 6, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
