Olga Kalisz Szakin, 88, of Anderson , SC, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at her home. Born February 9, 1932 in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Theodor and Hulda Kalisz. She was married to John Szakin until his passing in 2013. She was a member of Summer of God Slavic Evangelical Church. She is survived by her sons, Gene Szakin (Sheryl) of Anderson, SC, John Szakin of Phoenix, AZ and Peter Szakin (Susan) of Colleyville, TX; daughters, Luba Franke of Anderson, SC, Nadja Szakin of San Antonio, TX and Vera Varline (Steve) of Prescott, AZ; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 1:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Pastor Piotr Nestertsov officiating. The visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summer of God Slavic Evangelical Church, 2501 E. River St., Anderson, SC 29621.
