He was a retired truck drive and was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the United States Navy.In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by sons, Floyd Burdette of Starr, SC, Jeff Burdette of Anderson, SC, Sean Dempsey of Belton, SC and Robert Dempsey of Clemson, SC; a daughter, Devonne Parmerter of Ulee, Florida; brothers, Leonard Porter and Ray Burdette, both of Townville, SC and Charles Burdette of Anderson, SC; sisters, Nina King of Abbeville, SC and Ruby Porter of Anderson, SC; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.An Outside Memorial Service will be held at his residence, 203 Ponderosa Point, Townville, SC on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 1:00 pm.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
