Oliver Porter, 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital, Easley, SC. Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Ira O. Porter and Olivia Burgess Porter. Oliver worked for 27 years as a supervisor for Duke Energy and was a member of Beulah Church. He enjoyed hunting and gardening but his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. He is survived by sons, Brian Porter (Jennifer) of Williamston, SC and Tracy Porter of Chapin, SC; sister, Olive Nation (Walter "Bud") of Williamston, SC; grandchildren Marissa Porter of Chapin, SC, Dylan Porter of Williamson, SC and Allen Porter of Central, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Porter, Lawrence Porter, and Wade Porter; and sisters, Ruth Lockaby and Vera Timms. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:45 pm at the McDougald Funeral Home. The service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of his son, Brian Porter, 117 Gaillard Road, Williamston.
