Margaret Ovaline Bryant, age 88, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, on November 9, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Clarence Alewine and the late Mae Fisher Alewine. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. Ovaline was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Bryant Poag, of Columbia, SC and Dale Bryant Sanders (Jimmy), of Anderson, SC; two brothers, Jerry Alewine (late Ruby Alewine) and Terry Alewine (Betty) both of Belton, SC; three sisters, Etrulia Lollis (late Hack Lollis), of Honea Path, SC, Grace Gambrell Ellis (late Lewis Ellis), of Belton, SC, and Edith Skinner (late Ralph Skinner), of Laurens, SC; four grandchildren, Cable Poag (Ariane), Joshua Poag, Chase Sanders (Lauren), and Brittany Sanders Engberg (Elliot); and four great-grandchildren, Colin Engberg, Keira Engberg, Savannah Sanders, and William Castro Amorim and sister in laws, Julia Alewine and Margie Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Bryant; three brothers, J.C., Ed, and Wendell Alewine; and one sister, Opal Alewine. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at Long Branch Baptist Church with Reverends Wayne Watson and Hulon Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long Branch Baptist Church, 2101 Highway 413, Anderson, SC 29621.
