Ovelia Cantrell Manley, affectionately known as "Ann" or "Nanny", age 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. She was born November 23, 1940, in Anderson, SC, and was the daughter of the late Monroe Cantrell and Bessie Rogers Cantrell. She was married to William "Pete" Calvin Manley until his death in 2012. Ann was an avid bowler and was formerly the treasurer of Boulevard Lanes where she was in the Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed ceramics and loved her puppies, Paco and Rambo. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Jenina Stokes (George Nichols); sister, Carolyn Gosnell; and many other loving family members. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Matt Stokes; brothers, Raymond, Frank, and Bobby Cantrell; and sisters, Little Bell Holmes, Francis Gambrell, and Pearl Scarborough. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 1:30-3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
