Owen Thornton Burden, age 91, of Anderson, SC passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at his home. Born February 24, 1926 in Hart County, GA, he was a son of the late Sydney J. Burden and the late Mattie Jane Bobo Burden. Owen was a graduate of Hart County High School and had attended Georgia Tech. He was retired from Clark-Schwebel Fiberglass and a member of Toxaway United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Lynne Burden and Lisa B. Nethken both of Anderson, SC; brothers, Sidney J. Burden (Frances) of Waycross, GA and Stephen T. Burden of Gainesville, GA; sister, Margie B. Clowe (John) of Lilburn, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Maxwell Burden; brother, James C. Burden and sister, Vivian B. Hull. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Friday, September 15, 2017 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Thomas C.
