Pablo Rivera, Jr., age 60, of Piedmont, SC, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born December 10, 1965, in Manhattan, NY, he was the son Hilda Maria Marcano Rivera and the late Pablo Rivera.

Pablo was a graduate of Bulkeley High School Class of 1983 and was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving as a combat engineer. He was employed with the University of Connecticut police department for 22 years. He was a firearms instructor and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his tenure with the police department, he earned the sharpshooter badge and received the M.A.D.D. Award. His hobbies included baseball, golfing with his friends, fishing with his uncle, playing dominos, shooting pool, and home improvements. He also enjoyed bowling and claimed bragging rights of scoring a perfect game. Pablo was a Seventh Day Adventist.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jailene Rivera (Robert Bohadik); brothers, Julio Rivera (Vivian), Damien Paul Rivera and Damon Paul Rivera; sister, Pauline Rivera; and grandchildren, Adalia and Amelia Bohadik.

The family will have a service at a later date in South Windsor, CT. Mr. Rivera’s final resting place will be at State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
