Obituary

Patricia (Jackson) Applewhite passed away on May 29, 2025, at 7:40 AM. She was born December 14, 1936, in Anderson County, South Carolina where she lived the entirety of her life.

Patricia was predeceased by parents JB and Mary Jackson, and younger brother Franklin Jackson. Surviving is her husband of 65 years, Curtis Milton Applewhite and two sisters, Beverly (Jackson) Leonard and Diane (Jackson) Lovrich along with a niece and several nephews. Also surviving are her two sons, Michael (Teresa) and Blake (Paula) both of Anderson County. Pat was the beloved grandmother of 5, Kelsey Applewhite, Leah Applewhite Galli (Travis), Jacob Applewhite, Dillon Applewhite and Connor Applewhite.

Patricia Ann Jackson graduated from Anderson High School in 1954. After graduation, she went to work for Abney Mills as a secretary where her father was plant manager. On June 7, 1959, she had her first date with her future husband, Milton, and by July 18, 1959, they were engaged. Pat would go on to marry Milton on August 23, 1959. In 1962, Pat and Milton welcomed their first son Michael and second son Blake in 1964. Pat's time as the director of the Rocking Horse daycare center was a great source of pride, as she had a natural talent and love for working with children. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Belton for over 10 years, where she occasionally taught Sunday School.

Patricia was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about history. She extended this love of reading to her grandchildren. Pat was intelligent and thoughtful; friends and family could count on her to be a good listening ear, give good advice and know the right thing to say in a difficult moment. She was meticulous; each old photo in each album was labeled and each book she gifted came complete with a thoughtful message written on the inside cover. She was a beautiful singer, loved solving puzzles and loved morning swims in her pool.

The most important thing about Patricia Applewhite is that she had a strong faith in Jesus Christ.

A private service for immediate family will be held. Mrs. Applewhite's final resting place will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
