PATRICIA COLEMAN PHELAN Patricia Coleman Phelan, age 80, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Richard Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home, with her husband at her side. Born on August 3, 1933, in Fitchburg, MA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Fitzpatrick Coleman. For 58 years, she was the loving, devoted and faithful wife of Gerald Donald Phelan, Sr. of the residence. Following high school graduation, Mrs. Phelan served her country in the US Navy as a medical corpsman. Following military service, she was employed as a supply clerk for the US Army at Ft. Devens, MA. Mrs. Phelan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, Gerald, Mrs. Phelan is survived by 2 sons, Gerald Donald Phelan, Jr. and his wife, Roberta, of Fitchburg, MA, and Christopher Michael Phelan and his wife, Janalou, of Garland, TX; a daughter Catherine Mary Mangeson, of Wallingford, CT; 3 brothers, Bobby Coleman and wife, Betty, of Cape Coral, FL, Philip Coleman and wife, Janet, of Lancaster, MA, and Tom Coleman and his wife Dottie, of Methuen, MA; 2 sisters, Anna Coleman of Fitchburg, MA, and Mary Dugas of Westminister, MA; also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phelan was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald and Jackie Coleman. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 1:00 p.m.at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anderson, with Fr. Ignatius Smith, OFM, and Rev. Bro. Henry Fulmer, OFM, officiating. The family will be at the residence, 123 Bowlan Road, Belton, SC, and will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Contributions in memory of Patricia may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
