PATSY BURNS WILBANKS Patsy Burns Abney Wilbanks, age 76, of 3310 New Pond Road, passed away at AnMed Health Medical Center on Sunday, December 8, 2013. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Davis C. Burns and the late Euna Simmons Burns. Mrs. Wilbanks was employed as a Clerk with Transouth Credit in Anderson, and also at the City of Anderson Police Department. Her latest employment was with White Jones Hardware where she was a clerk. Patsy was a devoted, long time member of North Anderson Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the church choir and was active in many of the ministries of the church. She was known by family and friends to be a person of strong will with an outgoing personality, a beautiful smile and a lovable sense of humor. She is survived by three grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, and Steven Abney; seven great grandchildren, Angel, Arianna, Shawn, and Trenton Abney, Elijah and Anthony Rogers, and Tiffany Outen. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by a son, John Terry Abney. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at the Mausoleum of Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Bill Rigsby officiating. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home Wednesday, December 11, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family suggests contributions in memory of Patsy Wilbanks be made to North Anderson Baptist Church Building Fund, 2308 North Main Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
