Paul Joseph Dechand, age 70, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born on March 12, 1947, in Topeka, KS, he was the son of the late Ralph and Adelle Dechand. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 during Vietnam. Paul graduated from Kansas University and enjoyed a career with Rockwell Automation as a Buyer and Planner. He was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Dechand; a son, Aaron Tupper and his wife Tana, of Village Mills, TX, and a daughter Angel Wells and her husband Ken, of Ware Shoals, SC; two brothers, Jim and Mark Dechand, both of Topeka, KS; and four grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors. Reverend Damion Hutchins will officiate. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, May 1, 2017 prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the entire staff of the Rainey Hospice House for the love and support shown to Mr. Dechand while he was with them.
