Paul Arthur Stearns, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Southern Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Greenville, SC. Born in Scranton, PA on May 3, 1953, he was the son of the late John Kurt Stearns and the late Victoria Teresa Gorsky Stearns. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Paul was a member of the Anderson Chapter #40 of DAV, the American Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed gambling, gardening, and lengthy conversations with family, friends, and even strangers. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Shoan Goodman Stearns; a brother, Frank R. Stearns, and his wife Heidi; two sisters, Anne Stearns and Ruth Paul. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Stearns; and a sister, Martha Hozey. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery with Military Honors. Reverend Ken Kelly will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
